A Hawker Tempest on routine patrol is called to attack a German Tiger tank that broke through the Allied lines during the Ardennes offensive in Dec 1944.

This is a movie with not much of a story but rather a venture where more than 90% of all footage has some form of chroma keying. The green chroma map developed by AAA is used in all the IL2 clips to key the aircraft into the highly detailed COD virtual environment.

Besides many human shoots I also ventured by making use of filmed and blue screened scale models to add realism with close-up shoots.

That is some stunning technical work in the tempest attack movie. Really clever and well-executed combining of the two games plus the scale models and humans! Very interesting to watch.

What an imagination this filmaker has. He uses a minature tank model, blue screens an actor and costumes to create this extraordinay film. Maybe this film should get a special award for imagination and the use of 3D objects outside of the IL-2 game engine. Excellent!
